I began studying Media during my A-Levels. Using a drag and drop website builder, I created 'Be Afraid', a site dedicated to publishing recent news and behind-the-scenes content for fans of horror movies, landing me a grade B. This project sparked my interest in web development and design, leading me to pursue an honours degree in Creative Media Technology at Leeds Beckett University.
This practical course provided me with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of digital production, including web development, graphic design, motion graphics and camera operation.
Initially undertaking work experience in a serving capacity I was asked by hotel management after only 3 months to take the role as Head Of Back Of House. It was my responsibility to ensure all food was delivered in accordance to the highest standard. I was the first port of call to my co-workers in the kitchen with me and I delegated tasks to them accordingly. This was a fast paced and fluid environment with demanding standards, it has helped me build on communications both with staff and customers alongside develop a calm and considered approach to problem solving.
This role included me managing inventory and planning delivery to the shop floor over the busy Christmas period. I also dealt first hand with customer queries, enhancing my communication skills further.
